The goal of matrescence is to work through the stigmas of motherhood, normalize the changes in our bodies, relationships, and within ourselves. It involves providing psychoeducation about the changes in the body and taking preventative measures for postpartum well-being. By addressing these aspects, individuals can better navigate the challenges and transitions associated with motherhood, leading to improved mental and emotional well-being.
